Our Financial Services EY EDGE practice is a team of professionals providing dedicated tax technical services to both US and global clients. EDGE stands for Exceptional Delivery and Growth Engine because this team operates in a technical environment with deep process and service delivery experience that distinguishes EY in the marketplace.

EY’s State and Local (“SALT”) team is a growing practice within the organization, and as a Tax Senior Manager you’ll see that growth reflected in your career. You’ll be immersed in the evolving state and local tax environment serving hedge fund, private equity, banking and real estate clients.

Your Key Responsibilities

Analyzing an evolving portfolio of complex tax operations to provide meaningful business insights

Identifying potential opportunities and risks and communicating these to our clients

Learning and researching current market trends to maintain your credibility as a trusted advisor

Developing clear, intelligent plans and approaches to improve our clients’ tax activities

Researching our clients’ business operations and building long‑lasting relationships to tailor your advice to their specific needs

Supervising a motivated team of professionals, guaranteeing they have the skills, knowledge and opportunities to reach their full potential

Skills And Attributes For Success To qualify for the role, you must have

A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline

CPA, licensed Attorney or EA

A minimum of 8 years professional knowledge in a broad range of state and local Income/Franchise tax processes, concepts and tools

Experience managing budgets, people and projects

A proven record of excellence in a professional services or tax organization

Technical writing and research experience in a tax context

The ability to prioritize when working on multiple complex projects

Strong influencing skills, and the confidence to question existing processes

Ideally, you will also have

A proven record in a professional services environment or in‑house experience in a wealth and asset management company

Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Excel, One Source Tax Compliance Software, Corptax, and/or Premium Pro

Experience in coaching and mentoring junior colleagues

Ability to adapt your work style to work with both internal and client team members

What We Look For We’re interested in people with initiative who are not afraid to speak up, with a genuine desire to make things better across the business. You’ll need strong Excel and software skills and the ability to handle complex data from multiple sources.

What We Offer You

We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range in all US locations is $132,700 to $303,200, with higher ranges for certain metros.

Join us in our team‑led and leader‑enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external client‑serving roles to work together in person 40‑60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.

Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You’ll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your well‑being.
