Senior Mechanical Engineer (Industrial, Manufacturing & Process)
We are seeking a
Senior Mechanical Engineer
to join our client, an employee owned engineering firm that provides process engineering design services to complex regulated environments. This is a
full‑time, direct‑hire opportunity
to take a leading role in high‑impact projects for industrial and process clients.
We’re looking for someone who thrives on solving complex engineering challenges, mentoring junior engineers, and driving excellence in mechanical systems design.
Location: Richmond VA or Newport News VA.
What You’ll Do
Lead mechanical engineering design and coordination for energy, manufacturing, and industrial projects.
Manage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables while maintaining top‑quality standards.
Apply deep technical expertise across piping systems, pressure vessels, and process equipment.
Perform and review calculations for ASME piping, HVAC, plumbing, and relief systems.
Collaborate closely with clients to provide expert guidance and engineering solutions.
Mentor and develop less‑experienced engineers on the team (team of 8).
Who We’re Looking For You’re an experienced mechanical engineer who enjoys taking the lead — someone who brings both
technical mastery
and
consulting discipline.
Ideal Background
Professional Engineer (PE) — or ability to obtain a Virginia license within months.
8+ years of experience in consulting or industrial settings.
Strong command of ASME piping, CAESAR II analysis, and mechanical system design.
Demonstrated leadership in coaching engineers and managing project execution.
Experience with industrial facilities, shipbuilding, or bioprocessing environments.
U.S. Citizenship required (government clients).
