Job Description We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to support the design, analysis, and validation of equipment and components for Wind Tunnel and Hypersonic Ground Test projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical and structural design, with hands‑on experience developing and analysing complex mechanical systems, welded steel structures, and fluid system components.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and analyze mechanical systems and structural components for wind tunnel and hypersonic test facilities.

Perform structural and thermal analyses to validate designs using FEA tools (ANSYS preferred).

Design and analyze welded steel structures, ensuring compliance with safety and performance requirements.

Develop and validate fluid system packages including valves, filters, pumps, and instrumentation for pneumatic, hydraulic, fuel, and cooling systems.

Generate detailed 3D CAD models and engineering drawings using SolidWorks (preferred).

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design integration with other systems and facility requirements.

Support fabrication, assembly, and testing of mechanical systems including supplier coordination and design reviews.

Apply general knowledge of fabrication methods, including forming, welding, machining, and additive manufacturing.

Provide engineering support during installation, commissioning, and operational phases, both on-site and at customer facilities.

Requirements

BS or MS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.

5+ years of experience in Mechanical Design, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.

Proven experience with design and analysis of welded steel structures.

Strong background in fluid systems design and integration (pneumatic, hydraulic, fuel, or cooling systems).

Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).

Experience with Finite Element Analysis (Ansys preferred).

Working knowledge of manufacturing processes such as welding, machining, forming, and additive manufacturing.

Ability to travel up to 20%, including internationally.

Preferred Skills

Experience in aerospace test facilities, wind tunnel operations, or high‑speed flow environments.

Knowledge of ASME or aerospace structural design codes and standards.

Familiarity with instrumentation and control systems used in test facilities.
