R-088909**Job Title**Business Advisor**Agency**Texas A&M University - Victoria**Department**Small Business Development Center**Proposed Minimum Salary**$4,000.00 monthly**Job Location**Victoria, Texas**Job Type**Staff**Job Description****Primary Responsibility:**Provides professional business consulting and training services to business owners and entrepreneurs within an (11) county area.**Primary Duties:**·

Analyzes client’s business and industry data in finance, marketing, management and operations.·

Calculates and interprets historical and projected financial ratios, prepares pro forma financial statements, and conducts cash flow feasibility studies of client’s project data.·

Interprets and applies government regulations to client’s business and industry.·

Formulates client data, researches and analyzes results into business plans, marketing plans and loan proposals.·

Counsels small business clients one-on-one in business start-up and expansion methods, proper research techniques, plan development, record keeping and other business related issues.·

Demonstrates proper methods of financial analysis and recommends appropriate courses of action for clients in marketing methods, management techniques and loan applications.·

Prepares and teaches small business related seminars and workshops to clients and others.·

Initiates and maintains contact with assigned city and county Chambers of Commerce, Economic Development Corporations and Main Street Coordinators in assigned service areas.·

Collaborates with local, state and federal officials to promote economic and rural development programs, under supervision of Director.·

Consults with government agencies on programs and related changes, under supervision of assigned Senior SBDC Specialist.·

Selects and attends training courses to stay current with trends and new developments in business.·

Collects and compiles individual client economic impact for inclusion with director’s reports to state and federal agencies.·

Recommends marketing avenues for SBDC.·

Provides information and feedback to director pertaining to operations, expenditures, and economic and rural development initiatives.·

Performs other job-related duties as assigned.**Job Requirements:****Education & Experience:**Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field and (3) years related experience; makes satisfactory progress towards earning status as a Certified Business Advisors, Levels 1-4This position will require travel throughout region.All positions are security-sensitive.
