Norwalk Hospital, affiliated with Nuvance Health, is seeking a full‑time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Hospitalist for Norwalk Hospital in Norwalk, CT. We are located in suburban Fairfield County, just 50 miles outside of New York City along the Connecticut shoreline. Work in a collegial environment with experienced physicians and physician assistants in a busy hospital in a family‑friendly location close to NYC. Variable shifts run from 10 PM to 10 AM. Duties include admitting, rounding, discharging, and working with physicians. You will have the opportunity to work independently while collaborating with physicians in Hospitalist Medicine.

Norwalk Hospital is a Level II Trauma Center, a Stroke Center, and is certified to provide Emergency Angioplasty for heart attack. Established in 1893, it is a 366‑bed, not‑for‑profit community hospital that provides Fairfield and Westchester County residents convenient access to exceptional care. Job Summary Under the supervision of a physician, provide primary medical care to patients to assist in their recovery from acute illnesses and minimize the effects of chronic illnesses.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree and graduate of an approved Physician Assistant (PA) school, CT State PA license, DEA/State of CT controlled substance registration, and certification by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) or a master's degree, NP, State of CT RN and APRN license, CT Controlled Substances and Federal DEA Registration, and Board‑Certified Nurse Practitioner.

ACLS & BLS certification.

Must maintain 50 CME credits over two years.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Two years of prior Hospitalist or Internal Medicine experience preferred. New graduates with Internal Medicine rotations will be considered.

Willing to work variable shifts from 10 PM to 10 AM, including 4–5 holidays per year and 22 weekends per year.
