Job Overview Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) is seeking an experienced ServiceNow Platform Engineer to manage the technical aspects and development of the ServiceNow environment to join our Global Digital Services team based out of our Stevens Point, WI or Boston, MA office locations. This newly created position supports the design, implementation, and maintenance of scalable, secure, and high-performance ServiceNow solutions that enable digital workflows across the organization.

The candidate should demonstrate broad technical knowledge of ServiceNow products, such as ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, and SecOps, with a focus on platform architecture, governance, and automation.

Duties & Responsibilities

Administer and configure the ServiceNow platform including user interfaces, workflows, reporting, integrations, etc.

Collaborate with stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand business requirements and translate them into technical designs and solutions.

Create documentation for new and existing solutions including application architecture, data flows, technical designs etc.

Manage platform upgrades, patching, and performance tuning.

Monitor system health and proactively address issues to ensure high availability and reliability.

Establish and enforce platform standards, development guidelines, and governance models.

Stay current with ServiceNow releases and emerging capabilities.

Identify opportunities to enhance user experience and streamline workflows through automation and AI.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

7+ years of hands‑on experience with ServiceNow platform engineering in a large enterprise environment.

Proven expertise in multiple ServiceNow modules and custom application development.

Strong understanding of ITIL processes and enterprise architecture principles.

Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.

ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) and Certified Application Developer (CAD) required; additional certifications (e.g., ITSM, ITOM, HRSD) are a plus.

Experience in financial services or other regulated industries.

Knowledge of cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS) and integration with ServiceNow.

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

The base salary range for this position in Stevens Point, WI is $80,000 to $115,000, along with annual bonus eligibility. For the position based in Boston, MA, the base salary range is $85,000 to $120,000, along with annual bonus eligibility. Total compensation for a candidate is determined by their relevant skills, location, and experience.
