R0028853We are seeking a Functional Lead for the Systems Engineering (SE) discipline at SNC ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS). In this role, you will have the ability to chart the course for Systems Engineering for the IAS business area via people, processes, tools, and training as well as influence high-level decisions for the betterment of Systems Engineering. Systems engineers at SNC research, design, develop, test, certify, deploy and improve cutting edge products and services. These cover a very wide range from advanced mission payloads and electronic systems through highly integrated aircraft to specialized military systems. You'll conceptualize and develop new processes spanning the entire product life cycle.

IAS tailors solutions to customer cost, performance, and schedule requirements and designs to consistently exceed expectations – with an unrivaled record of on time and on (or under) budget deliveries.**Responsibilities:*** **People:** Support the Systems Engineering discipline through mentorship, talent calibration, hiring, program reviews, and communication. In essence, taking care of the Systems Engineers at IAS and ensuring that standards are upheld. Work closely and align with IAS SE SME in developing and implementing the strategic 3-5-10 year SE roadmap. Hold responsibility for the execution of 1-year tactical roadmap for Systems Engineering. Lead specialized SE team to support functional and program needs across IAS.* **Processes:** Establish and manage processes for Systems Engineering execution and technical excellence at SNC. Including document creation, instruction generation, reference authoring, and the continuous improvement of all SE documentation, ensuring alignment with current Aerospace and Defense industry standards.* **Tools:** Chart the course for current and future tool implementation at SNC. To include requirements management, architecture development, simulation and analysis, configuration management, risk management, traceability and tool integration.

Stay informed on current and emerging SE technologies and methodologies through internal and external communities of practice. Support product realization team in SE tool trade studies, capability assessments, user checkout, and tool adoption.* **Training:** Support external training selection as well as development, administration, and support of general or specialized internal training for all SNC Systems Engineers.**Qualifications You Must Have:*** Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering, Systems Engineering or other related disciplines and typically 10 or more years of relevant experience.* Higher education may substitute for relevant experience.* A working understanding of systems engineering principles and practices as specified in ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288 and INCOSE SE Handbook v5.* Working knowledge and proficiency with SE related tools including Jama, Cameo Enterprise Architecture, DOORs etc.* Ability to work in multi-disciplinary design and development teams including electrical, software, mechanical, test, certification, cyber, network and infrastructure, mission engineering, etc.* Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE): Expertise in MBSE tools such as MagicDraw/Cameo Systems Modeler, IBM Rational Rhapsody, or Enterprise Architect to create and manage system models spanning the Systems Engineering lifecycle.* Requirements Management: Requirements Elicitation and Analysis, Ability to capture, analyze, and document stakeholder needs and translate them into technical specifications.* System Architecture and Design: Proficiency in using SysML, UML, or other modeling languages to create system architecture and detailed designs. Integration and Interface Management, designing and managing system interfaces to ensure compatibility and integration of subsystems. Familiarity with government reference architectures and how to align solution architectures.* Safety and Risk Management: Familiarity with identifying, analyzing, and mitigating risks throughout the project lifecycle. Conducting safety assessments, including Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), to identify and mitigate potential hazards.* Verification and Validation (V&V): Developing and executing test cards or plans to verify that the system meets all requirements and functions as intended. Ensuring that modifications comply with relevant standards and regulations, such as those set by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) or military standards.* **The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required****Qualifications We Prefer:*** INCOSE SEP Certification.* OMG Modeling Certification.* Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA): Experience applying MOSA principles to design systems with modular components and open standards to ensure interoperability, ease of upgrades, and reduced lifecycle costs. This includes open standards such as OMS, UCI, FACE, UAI etc.* Familiarity of simulation tools like MATLAB/Simulink to model, analyze, and validate system behavior.* Risk Management: Identifying, analyzing, and mitigating risks throughout the project lifecycle.* Configuration Management: Managing changes to system configurations and maintaining documentation to ensure consistency and traceability.* Change Management: Implementing processes to evaluate and control changes to the system design and documentation.* Project Management and Coordination: Working closely with Program Managers and Project Engineers to help with planning and managing of project schedules, resources, and budgets to ensure timely and cost-effective completion.* Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicating with stakeholders, including SNC leadership, customers, regulatory bodies, and team members.* Regulatory Knowledge & Compliance Standards: Understanding and applying relevant regulatory requirements, such as FAA regulations for civil aircraft or DoD standards for military aircraft.* Certification Processes: Familiarity with certification processes and documentation required for aircraft modifications.* Technical Documentation & Technical Writing: Creating clear and comprehensive technical documentation, including requirements specifications, design descriptions, test plans, and user manuals.* Review and Audit: Conducting reviews and audits of technical reviews and documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, #J-18808-Ljbffr
