Description In accordance with the established mission, policies, and procedures of 1-800-Flowers.com and/or specific instructions from the QA Manager, the QA Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the facility complies with all Local, State, and Federal laws related to a food production environment. This position is primarily responsible for food safety, continuous improvement, and quality. Major responsibilities include:
Enforcing all internal Quality and Food Safety requirements and ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and GMP standards throughout the company.
Acting as SQF Practitioner, PCQI, and as a member of the Food Safety and Quality Team.
Hiring, training, and supervising QA staff, including developing and implementing training programs related to QA standards, GMPs, policies, and regulations.
Managing the daily operation of the SQF System and QMS processes as appropriate.
Identifying and communicating potential quality and safety risks to the Quality Manager.
Documenting irregularities and establishing corrective actions.
Maintaining the HACCP program.
Managing programs such as environmental monitoring, pest control, and ethylene monitoring as requested.
Overseeing product recall/traceability programs and conducting mock recalls.
Assisting with audits and providing regular updates to leadership on QA issues.
Developing effective communication and record-keeping with all departments and attending weekly production meetings.
Monitoring production processes to ensure conformance with specifications and standards.
Ensuring the quality of finished products through testing and visual examinations, and managing out-of-spec products.
Leading investigations and analyzing data for quality issues.
Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications include:
Bachelor's Degree or 3-5 years of experience in Quality.
Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or management experience.
PCQI Certification preferred.
Experience with SQF/FDA audits preferred.
Proficiency in Office software (Word, PowerPoint, Access) required.
Experience with Warehousing Management systems (SAP/Oracle) and other software (ETQ/Genesis/PLM) preferred.
Ability to understand label requirements, lot code formats, procedures, diagrams, flow charts, and specifications.
