Job Description and Requirements We are seeking a highly motivated Logistics Warehouse Specialist to join Penn State's Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) supporting a DoD Joint Program. Responsibilities include managing shipping and receiving of supplies and equipment, ensuring compliance with DoD regulations, and working in a fast-paced environment in San Diego, CA.
Key duties include:
Developing logistics plans and procedures
Maintaining inventory records and conducting audits
Preparing shipping documentation
Managing receipt, storage, and shipment of materials
Optimizing warehouse layout
Coordinating with stakeholders for timely deliveries
Ensuring HAZMAT shipping compliance
Resolving logistical issues with teams
Participating in continuous improvement
Operating material handling equipment
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree plus 4 years of related experience or equivalent, with a preference for degrees in supply chain management or logistics. Required skills include experience in logistics, knowledge of DoD policies, HAZMAT handling, and ability to obtain a Secret Clearance. Physical ability to lift 50 lbs. is necessary.
Preferred qualifications include military experience in logistics or related fields.
This role requires U.S. citizenship, a security investigation, and a pre-employment drug screen. Salary ranges from $46,400 to $67,300 annually.
