About the role:

Are you passionate about advancing pharmaceutical research and ensuring drug safety at Novartis? The Preclinical Safety (PCS) department at Novartis BioMedical Research (BR) is seeking an experienced Impurity Safety scientist to join our dynamic team.

As an Impurity Safety expert at Novartis, you will play a key role in supporting non-clinical safety assessment throughout drug discovery and development, as well as for established medicines, with state-of-the-art regulatory compliance. Utilizing your expertise, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality and compliant research.

The position can be located in the US (Cambridge, MA or East Hanover, NJ) or United Kingdom (London).

Job Description Essential Requirements: PhD, DVM or equivalent Broad knowledge in toxicology and chemistry Knowledge of the drug development process Minimum of 5 years of experience in regulatory impurity safety assessment Experience in health authority interactions Knowledge of design and application of impurity safety databases, experience in the area of QSARs Strong analytical skills and a commitment to scientific excellence. Excellent communication and team collaboration skills. Desirable Requirements: Strong data exploration and analysis skills. Novartis Compensation and Benefit Summary: The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $152,600 to $283,400 /annually. Note that salary ranges are effective from 1/1/25 through 12/31/25, but fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments during this period. Final pay will depend on various factors, including location, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The total compensation may include a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, discretionary awards, and other benefits such as medical, financial, and paid time off (vacation, sick leave, parental leave). Details will be provided if an offer is made. This is an at-will employment position, and the company reserves the right to modify compensation at any time.
