Team! The
Community Services Department
offers Torrance residents the opportunity to achieve a sense of purpose, identity, self-worth, and improved self-esteem through programs in Cultural Arts, Library, Parks, and Recreation. The Mission of the Recreation Division's Early Childhood Education program is to encourage and educate children aged 3 to 5 by providing a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment to prepare them for elementary school. The Position The City of Torrance Community Services Department seeks a highly organized and dynamic individual for the role of
Program Specialist . This role involves planning, organizing, and implementing program activities. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, project management skills, and a passion for customer service. This position is within our
Early Childhood Education (ECE) Program
and requires a commitment to the growth of young children, with knowledge of child development principles to develop curricula and activities. Ideal Candidate Knowledge of child development stages Ability to enforce program policies and procedures Effective communication skills Ability to establish positive relationships Valid California Class C Driver's License Willingness to obtain CPR and First Aid certifications within 3 months College coursework in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or related fields is desirable.
