The Sr. Corporate Counsel will be responsible for significant supply chain projects in the entire Americas region, however most activity will be in Kentucky, Jamaica, and Mexico. They will report to the General Counsel, Americas and APAC regions. This position will work directly with local, regional, and global engineering, logistics, and procurement teams on the larger construction projects in the region and collaborate to improve planning and processes in general. They will manage outside counsel for select projects, and work with local legal teams as needed. This position will work with and advise internal clients at different levels within the organization and in different departments. We are a small legal department, so an entrepreneurial spirit is welcome. We work collaboratively with a passion for creative, pragmatic, and elegant business solutions. Key Responsibilities and Activities Supports internal supply chain team on entire project cycle from RFP to contract execution for the significant projects in the Americas region. Reviews, drafts, and negotiates various contracts, including design build contracts, significant equipment purchases, and general construction. Manages outside counsel doing the same Conducts trainings and creates knowledge-based materials on contract negotiation and other key topics for the benefit of various stakeholders in Supply Chain. Works to continually evolve planning, processes, and other ways of working between legal and supply chain departments. Key Relationships Internal : Supply Chain function, including Engineering, Logistics, Operations, and Procurement at the local, regional, and global level. Local and global legal teams. External : Outside counsel, state or federal government agencies, vendor and service provider business and legal teams Experience Required At least 7-11 years of experience as a practicing attorney with a well-recognized law firm and/or corporate law department. Preferred experience with design build construction projects. Prior in-house experience a plus. Education / Professional Qualifications JD Degree Good standing member of NY state bar Spanish fluency a plus Skills Functional Superior written and oral communication skills. Customer service orientation with ability to provide pragmatic and creative legal solutions within a business context. Effective time management skills with the ability to thrive in a fast changing, ambiguous, and demanding environment. Creative analytical aptitude coupled with strong common-sense judgment skills. Strong and effective people management and matter management skills, including ability to effectively manage issues, find solutions, and drive change, directly and through others. Essential Job Functions Spend extensive time reading, reviewing and interpreting written materials from a variety of online, paper, and other reference sources. Ability to discern key facts and issues from interviews and written materials. Draft clearly written documents for internal and external communications. Attend and actively participate in meetings, both in person and virtually. Able to be regularly present at the office location to complete job duties. Necessary business travel estimated at 10-15% The expected base salary for this position, based in New York City ranges from $223,760 - $279,700. The range will vary if outside of this location. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors and considerations. In addition to base salary and a generous employee benefits package, employees are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus .
