The Associate Director, Statistics - Eye Care provides statistical leadership for clinical development and life-cycle management strategies for assigned projects. Specific areas of work may include clinical trials, patient safety, and global medical affairs (GMA). The Associate Director works in partnership with experts in multiple disciplines to advance medicines to our patients. This position will work a hybrid 3-day work schedule from one of the following AbbVie locations: Irvine, CA Lake County, IL South San Francisco, CA Florham Park, NJ Responsibilities

Provide statistical support for clinical development projects, leading or supporting statistical strategies for development and regulatory submissions. Lead design, analysis, and reporting for clinical or scientific research programs; develop protocols and analysis plans independently. Represent the function on project teams, providing statistical input and aligning with cross-functional partners to develop strategies. Demonstrate extensive understanding of statistical concepts; propose novel methodologies; ensure analyses are conducted appropriately. Train and mentor staff; supervise contract or junior statisticians; support professional development. Develop data presentation strategies, collaborate on publications, and ensure report accuracy and consistency. Act as liaison for statistical issues with external collaborators; build external scientific connections. Ensure regulatory compliance; review submission documents; participate in discussions with agencies; validate external software. Qualifications

MS (10+ years) or PhD (6+ years) in Statistics, Biostatistics, or related field. Strong technical skills and excellent communication abilities. Ability to identify data issues and provide solutions. Project management skills; ability to build cross-functional relationships. Leadership experience, especially with cross-cultural or international teams. Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry, drug development, and lifecycle management. Experience leading safety-related projects and competence in experimental and RWE study design.
