Base pay range $18.00/hr - $21.00/hr

Responsibilities

Execute, monitor, and train inventory best practices and standard operating procedures for the entire store, including front end and pharmacy.

Support pharmacy inventory management activities, including receiving, counting, ordering, and facilitating returns.

Champion On‑Shelf Availability and manage receiving, counting, pricing, returns, and all in‑store inventory processes.

Validate and ensure accuracy of planograms.

Review and coordinate the proper use of reports and system applications affecting front end and pharmacy on‑hand balances and pricing.

Maintain front end and pharmacy asset protection techniques and file claims for warehouse and vendor overages, shortages, order errors, or damaged goods including prescription drugs.

Open and close the store in the absence of store management, handling system start‑ups, cash handling, cashier responsibilities, and ensuring the floor and stock room are ready for the business day.

Customer Experience

Engage customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.

When serving as the leader on duty, resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.

Share customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful experience.

Operations

Execute and coach team members on warehouse and vendor inventory management processes.

Scan all deliveries while the vendor is still in the store, focus on One Box receiving, and take appropriate action to mark delivery as received.

Under the pharmacist‑in‑charge supervision, verify all pharmacy shipments and complete postings of all pharmacy warehouse orders, prescriptions, OTC orders, secondary vendor orders, and flu or dropship orders.

Complete On‑Shelf Availability (OSA) end‑to‑end process, including warehouse and direct store delivery (DSD) for planogrammed departments, disposals, call‑ins, vendor returns, scan‑outs, and vendor/DSD returns before expiration.

Under the pharmacist‑in‑charge supervision, complete pharmacy inventory activities such as recalls, vendor returns, non‑controlled and damaged salvage returns, and facilitate excess inventory returns or inter‑store pharmacy transfers.

Execute all pricing activities including price changes, markdowns, and deletions, and maintain accurate department pricing.

Support front end and pharmacy ordering by ordering expense items and monitoring pharmacy manual orders.

Ensure all pull & quarantine items are updated and placed in the designated holding area.

Maintain accurate inventory counts for basic departments, stockroom, and overstock locations.

Support inventory compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.

Assist in maintaining inventory records, including receiving and posting all products.

Help prepare for physical inventory and support day activities.

Keep all counters and shelves clean and well merchandised.

Know all store systems and equipment.

Coach team on package delivery activities, scanning in and out of packages, daily inventory functions, and returns.

When serving as the leader on duty, register all related sales on POS, handle scanning errors, price verifications, voids, customer refunds, cash drops to safe, and provide change.

Comply with all company policies and maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.

Complete any additional activities and tasks as assigned.

Training & Personal Development

Attend company‑based trainings for continuous development and complete all e‑learning modules including safety training.

Obtain and maintain a valid pharmacy license/certification as required by the state.

Communications

Serve as a liaison between management and non‑management team members by coaching and developing inventory system capabilities.

When serving as the leader on duty, communicate assigned tasks, report disciplinary issues, and customer complaints to management.

Basic Qualifications

Six months of prior work experience with Walgreens (internal) or one year of prior retail work experience (external).

Fluent reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).

Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.

“Achieving expectations” rating on last performance review and no written disciplinary actions in the previous 12 months (internal only).

Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to multitask and manage execution.

Experience in identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience as a shift lead, pharmacy technician, designated hitter, or customer service associate.

Prior work experience with Walgreens, with an evaluation on file.
