JOB SUMMARY Manufacturing & Production Operations Management work encompasses managing/coordinating teams and processes across multiple manufacturing areas including Production Engineering / Manufacturing Process Development, Tool and Die/Model Making, Production Operations (i.e., assembly, material forming/shaping, processing, treating, packaging, etc.) and Production Planning/Control.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct, leverage, and guide the work of others; mobilize resources.
Manage two or more direct reports.
Monitor and achieve operational and/or financial results for the area of responsibility.
Handle people management actions such as hiring, terminating, rewarding, training, and developing employees.
Ensure that quality standards are met within each department.
Ensure that safety standards are maintained during work shifts.
Facilitate a culture where employees feel respected and engaged in their work.
Progression within the levels reflects increasing scope, responsibilities, and leadership capabilities.
Manage experienced professionals and/or supervisors who exercise latitude and independence.
Often head one or more sections or a small department.
Adapt departmental plans and priorities to meet short-term challenges.
Work on issues of diverse scope; analyze situations with understanding of concepts, theories, and principles in the discipline and basic knowledge of other disciplines.
Solve problems following operational policies; understand the broader impact across the department.
Advise subordinates to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems; apply understanding of the business and how area integrates with others to achieve department objectives.
Interpret and administer policies, processes, and procedures that may affect sections and subordinate work units.
Develop and administer schedules, performance requirements; may have budget responsibilities.
Assignments are defined by activities and objectives; work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.
Decisions impact work processes and outcomes. Errors in judgment or failure to achieve results may cause delays and significant resource expenditure.
Interact with internal personnel and outside representatives at various levels; participate and present at meetings with internal and external representatives, typically concerning resolution of operational and scheduling issues.
Safe Quality Food (SQF) RESPONSIBILITIES FOR ALL EMPLOYEES
Follow all Plant rules, processes, hygiene, and allergens procedures related to production of Safe Quality Foods.
Report potentially unsafe conditions to the appropriate authority to record any unsafe foods or noncompliance with SQF procedures.
Participate in SQF Root Cause and Corrective Actions (from customer complaints, SQF audits, validation, and verification activities) as required.
Follow all procedures related to producing Safe Quality Foods (SQF).
Report any potentially unsafe SQF conditions or customer complaints to a person of authority to record and/or correct the situation.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree or related work experience required in lieu of degree.
The candidate must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily, with or without a reasonable accommodation. Graphic Packaging retains the right to change or assign other duties to this position.
