Step into Your New Role Our Mountain Area Environmental Services Team is a dynamic group of over 40 professionals organized into specialized sub-teams including Air Quality, Environmental Planning & Permitting, and Remediation & Investigation. Together, we deliver comprehensive environmental solutions across a diverse portfolio of clients and markets.
We support projects spanning the development of renewable energy infrastructure nationwide, perform site selection due diligence and dispersion modeling for data centers, conduct ecological field studies, manage landfill gas assessments, and provide expert guidance on complex air quality permitting for oil and gas operations and other industrial clients.

Kleinfelder's Salt Lake City, UT area office is hiring an Air Quality Professional to join our Environmental Group! The primary role of this position is to provide environmental and engineering technical support for various aspects of air quality planning, permitting and compliance programs including:
Preparation of emission inventories
Permit application development
Regulatory review
Compliance monitoring, record keeping and reporting
Greenhouse gas reporting
Dispersion modeling
The applicant should have strong technical experience with Federal and State air quality regulations and emission calculations and have experience interacting with clients and regulatory agencies. This position will be expected to communicate with clients, and progress to being the primary client contact in some situations.
Minimum Experience
Air quality emission calculations
Federal and state (Utah, Colorado preferred) air quality regulations
Minor source air permitting
Air quality regulatory applicability determinations
Greenhouse gas reporting and/or regulations
Preferred Experience (beneficial but not required)
Other State air quality regulations
Major and Title V source air permitting
NEPA air quality analyses
Compliance data management and reporting
Dispersion modeling
Professional Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Environmental, or related field
4-8 years of experience in Air Quality permitting and compliance or related field
Proficient in Microsoft programs including Word and Excel
Strong experience with writing and communicating technical material
Minor field work and travel may be necessary
Benefits Kleinfelder, and its subsidiaries and affiliates, offers an excellent compensation and benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) plan, and paid holidays. The expected salary range for the position is $68,536 - $100,568. Salary range is displayed in accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience. We will be accepting applications through 02/08/2026 (90 days from posting date).
