Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Level 4 Data Center Technician to join our IT operations team. This role is critical to supporting GPU cluster deployments and maintaining high-performance infrastructure within a Microsoft data center environment. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in server and network hardware, cabling, and data center standards, with a strong background in break-fix operations and project leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Perform tasks across Level 1-3 technician scopes as needed.
Manage ITSM tickets and provide advanced troubleshooting.
Lead and coordinate data center build activities and ensure alignment with standards.
Serve as a liaison between team members and management, prioritizing workloads and monitoring project timelines.
Deploy and configure servers, switches, and GPUs.
Conduct break-fix tasks on servers, GPUs, network hardware, and cabling.
Install components (NICs, drives, memory) and update firmware.
Rack, stack, and cable equipment per wire maps and standards.
Land fully populated GPU/network racks including baying, leveling, grounding, and containment setup.
Install, test, label, and patch copper and fiber (SM, MM, MPO) cabling.
Handle optical modules (SFPs, QSFPs) and clean fiber connectors (SC, LC, MPO).
Ensure proper cable routing, dressing, and connector installation.
Review and validate build documentation and BOMs.
Provide thought leadership and drive program growth.
Manage multiple concurrent projects in a high-pressure environment.
Communicate progress using tracking tools, MS Office, and documentation standards.
Required Qualifications
10+ years of data center deployment and break-fix experience.
Proven expertise in GPU/network rack deployment and cabling technologies.
Strong knowledge of Ethernet cabling (Cat5, Cat6, fiber optics).
Experience with DC power systems and equipment.
Familiarity with Microsoft data center environments and telecom engineering designs.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Willingness to travel as needed.
Preferred Certifications & Skills
Certifications: CompTIA A+, Server+, CCENT, CCNA (preferred), MCP/MSCE (preferred)
OS Experience: Windows Server environments
Scripting: PowerShell, Python, Bash (preferred)

Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Mount Pleasant, WI.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $46.20 - $46.20/hr.
