Job Description:
The Accounting Manager will oversee the month end close and financing operations, ensuring compliance with accounting rules and internal control documentation, analyze month end and quarter end results, supervise staff, and support decision-making of executive management. Key Responsibilities: Oversee Accounting Operations:
Manage the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial data including payroll, sales, A/R, A/P, prepaids, accruals, leases, debt and other areas as needed. Financial Close Process:
Manage the close process including completion of the close checklist and monitoring dates of deliverables to ensure timely completion. Ensure all reconciliations are complete and accurate. Identify any new transactions that need recorded. Financial Reporting and Analysis:
Prepare and analyze financial reports to include the consolidation, balance sheets, income statements and other reports as needed. Providing fluctuation responses and determining in any entries are necessary. 10-Q/10-K
Prepare supporting schedules for the 10Q and 10K footnotes and disclosures as requested. Audit Support:
Assist with external audit and quarterly review procedures, providing necessary information, responding to auditor questions and supporting documentation or reports as needed. Compliance:
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies and procedures. Document internal control policies. Process Improvement:
Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy to include automating procedures. Staff Supervision:
Mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and support to ensure effective performance. Financial Analysis:
Analyze financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and potential problems, and make recommendations for improvement. Tax Compliance:
Assist with tax schedules for the tax preparer and timely tax filings. Stakeholder Communication:
Communicate financial information and insights to internal and external stakeholders, including management, investors, and auditors. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. 3-5 years of experience in accounting. 1 to 2 years of public accounting experience . Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices, and regulations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate financial information. Ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and make sound recommendations. Proficiency in Net Suite and Microsoft Office Suite.
