STV is seeking a Full-Time Senior Civil Engineer in Transportation for our offices in Lexington, Louisville, Glasgow, or Owensboro to join our Transportation Group. The primary role involves managing projects from notice to proceed through final closeout, including plan development, scheduling, cost estimating, specifications, and administrative duties. The role also includes supervision and guidance, focusing on objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters. The Senior Civil Engineer will consult with the Principal Project Engineer to resolve project-related issues.
Responsibilities and Duties
Responsible for the successful completion of assigned engineering projects, applying extensive engineering knowledge to all tasks, making independent decisions on engineering problems, and representing the company in conferences to resolve key issues and coordinate work. Plan, develop, coordinate, and direct project completion. Establish and maintain primary contact with clients. Prepare schedules to ensure projects are on time and within budget. Determine staffing needs, hire, train, manage, and motivate personnel. Establish and maintain quality and accuracy standards. Review and approve plans. Obtain necessary approvals from governing entities. Participate actively in new business development. Assist with project scope and prepare technical proposals. Oversee invoicing and collection of payments. Review and approve invoices, and manage receivables. Supervise Engineers and Technicians as required. Collaborate with other managers and staff to achieve company goals. Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in Kentucky 16 or more years of related experience Proficiency in oral and written communication Willingness to assist in fieldwork when required, with physical ability to work outside in all weather conditions, including activities like squatting, kneeling, climbing, and walking certain distances. Compensation Range:
