Job Description
Job Summary The Enterprise Data Products Portfolio Management team in Technology is leading a transformative journey to support our data strategy, focusing on developing and delivering critical business outcomes and engaging with partners across MUFG for Data, AI, and BI services. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual for the role of Assistant Vice President, Data Serving, to support projects and BAU work. The candidate should be skilled at bridging IT and business teams, speaking both technical and business languages effectively. This is a high-visibility role involving stakeholder engagement and liaising with technologists to facilitate information exchange, supporting product owners. The candidate must be able to deliver results in an agile environment, managing project timelines and risks. This role involves working with a small team of business analysts and Scrum Masters, emphasizing technology adoption, process optimization, and continuous delivery of Data, AI, and BI products and services. Major Responsibilities
Develop and deepen understanding of data and reporting needs across various banking and financial services sectors. Build and maintain trust-based relationships with key stakeholders to understand their challenges and identify how data solutions can support their objectives. Engage with stakeholders to manage requests, prioritize work, and evaluate scenarios to optimize project delivery within resource and budget constraints. Manage deliverables, centralize information, and proactively address issues and changes. Visualize dependencies across programs and projects to understand relationships and optimize delivery. Lead discovery processes for scope of work by uncovering high-level business requirements. Understand upstream data dependencies, generate insights, present findings, and ensure data quality and consistency. Qualifications
7+ years of experience in the banking and financial services technology sector. 5+ years in data management and analytics. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Data Skills
Experience in data analysis, SQL, and complex queries. Knowledge of regulatory reporting and cross-reporting analysis. Experience with data warehousing, data lakes, and marts. Understanding of data models (3NF, dimensional). Experience with financial data domains, GL, and reconciliations. Technical Skills
Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, MS Office. Familiarity with ETL tools, SQL, Python, Hive. Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure) are a plus. Experience with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server). Knowledge of Snowflake, Starburst, BI tools (Tableau, Power BI) is a plus. Business Acumen
Experience in risk reporting, regulatory reporting, GL, or profitability analysis. Strong requirements analysis, design, and documentation skills. Understanding of regulatory standards (BCBS 239, GDPR). Experience with data pipelines for risk and regulatory reporting. Human Skills
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to present to senior management and train audiences. Skill in building consensus and adapting to changing priorities. The typical base salary range for this role is $120K - $150K, depending on experience and location.
