Job Summary The Telemetry RN provides and coordinates patient-centered care, collaborates with the healthcare team, and demonstrates knowledge and skills appropriate to the patient’s age. Responsibilities include assessing patient symptoms, planning and implementing care, administering medications, and educating patients and families.
Essential Functions
Assess symptoms, history, and coordinate care with team members
Plan, organize, and deliver care, administer medications, and educate patients
Record assessments, treatments, and responses accurately
Maintain equipment and supplies
Follow standards and protocols, communicate effectively, and ensure safety
Provide discharge instructions and follow-up care
Adhere to HIPAA and safety regulations
Participate in training and may float to other hospital areas
Behavioral Standards
Provide excellent customer service, show appreciation, and respond promptly
Communication and Knowledge
Follow dress code, answer calls promptly, meet deadlines, and act ethically
Collaboration/Teamwork
Attend meetings, follow HIPAA, and understand emergency procedures and safety protocols
Requirements
Minimum 6 months RN experience
Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills; ability to read EKGs
Graduate of an accredited Nursing program; BSN preferred
Current RN license for Texas; BLS, ACLS certifications
