Defense Attorney - General Liability
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Defense Attorney specializing in General Liability to join our mid-sized law firm, recognized for its leadership and innovation in the legal field. This position is based in our Uniondale office but offers a flexible hybrid work environment. The successful candidate will handle a variety of responsibilities including analysis, communication, and case resolution in a dynamic setting, contributing to our reputation for excellence in client services.
Salary:
$120,000 to $140,000 per year Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Analyze legal issues and develop strategic solutions. Communicate regularly and effectively with claims professionals. Maintain detailed records of communication and case developments. Prepare legal pleadings, motions, and other case-related documents. Conduct depositions and represent clients in court. Assist in resolving cases efficiently to minimize court time and costs. Trial preparation and active participation in trial proceedings. Minimum Position Qualifications: JD from an accredited law school. Active membership in good standing with the New York Bar. Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to multitask and manage time effectively. Minimum of 2-4 years' experience in general liability defense. Preferred Qualifications: Trial experience is highly valued. Experience in high-volume case handling. Proven track record of favorable settlements and verdicts. Skills in negotiation and mediation. Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting. Skills: Strong legal research skills. Effective case management capabilities. Proficiency in legal software and Microsoft Office.
