Essential Skills And Experience

BS in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Aerospace, or Structural Engineering, from an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program, with an emphasis in solid mechanics, structural analysis, theory of elasticity, metallurgy, and finite element analysis 5 or more years creating computer piping analysis models and interpreting results for code compliance Must have knowledge of ASME B31.1 and ASME B&PV Section III piping codes (knowledge of B31.1 1967 Edition and B&PV Section III 1971 through Summer 1973 Addenda is preferred) Knowledge of the design, selection, and application of pipe supporting elements Working knowledge of commercially available piping products and their application Strong written and verbal communication skills required

Valued But Not Required Skills And Experience

P.E. license is desired MS in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Aerospace, or Structural Engineering, from an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program Experience with CAESAR II and/or AutoPIPE Pipe Stress Analysis software Experience with ANSYS Workbench and Mechanical ADP Knowledge of gas dynamics and hydraulic transients is desirable Knowledge of pipe condition assessment is a plus
