Base pay range
$120,000.00/yr - $130,000.00/yr Job Summary
The Network Manager role requires a strong background in Layer 2 troubleshooting, with at least two years of recent experience working with Juniper switches, along with senior-level experience as a Network Engineer. Candidates must hold a Security+ certification and an active Secret Clearance. A CCNA certification is highly preferred. Experience with Aruba and a Juniper certification, such as the JNCIA, will be required within the first six months of employment. This position reports to the Program Manager and collaborates with a team of 10 professionals. While not a people-management role, mentorship of junior engineers and overseeing network management are key responsibilities. The organization has transitioned from Cisco to Juniper, so the role primarily involves working with Juniper networks, with occasional tasks involving Cisco equipment. In addition to the salary, the candidate may be eligible for a sign-on bonus of $2,500.00. Responsibilities
Perform network management responsibilities, including remote and onsite monitoring of system workload, configuration, and operation. Install, manage, maintain, and troubleshoot wired and wireless data network systems and equipment. Create network diagrams, project plans, and documentation to support RMF and ATO requirements. Activate, configure, and maintain Taclane devices. Configure and troubleshoot Juniper switches and routers. Configure and troubleshoot Aruba wireless access points and controllers. Use government-provided network security and systems management tools such as JUNOS Space, Cisco Prime, Wireshark, and others to manage networks. Provide recommendations on system changes and operational procedures to increase efficiency, including experience with TLA designs and network flows. Detect and resolve network component failures rapidly, perform routine maintenance, evaluate regulations, and assist in planning and implementing new systems. Work independently and in teams, possibly leading others. Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Be available outside normal hours for troubleshooting and support as needed. Develop and review network documentation, SOPs, and other operational procedures. Required Education/Certifications
Bachelor's Degree in computer science or related field. IAT-II certification (e.g., CCNA Security, Security+ CE, GSEC, CySA+). Juniper and/or Cisco certifications preferred; JNCIA required within six months. Required Skills and Experience
Five years of IT-related experience (preferred). Five years of network management experience (preferred). Proficiency with Layer 2 switches, Layer 3 routing, and wireless technologies. Experience with Microsoft Visio and strong documentation skills. Familiarity with applying STIGs and creating checklists. Experience with Cisco, Juniper, and Aruba devices, with in-depth knowledge of Juniper. Additional Information
