Our organization within Deutsche Bank is Compliance Production and Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) Services. The organization is in the process of transforming itself using Google Cloud, and we are responsible for creating SRE capabilities for multiple Compliance applications hosted on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). As an SRE Engineer, you will work to improve the reliability of applications hosted on GCP and enhance operational efficiency through automation, monitoring setup, and identifying TOIL within existing systems and processes, recommending and implementing automated solutions to reduce TOIL and improve team effectiveness. Define target state infrastructure architecture of applications from a reliability standpoint as part of an Agile team Develop, improve, and maintain internal operations tools such as deployment, monitoring, statistics, and platform management tools Automate and optimize application build and deployment processes, perform deployments in testing and production environments Set up and manage CI/CD pipelines Support proactively, seek root causes, conduct in-depth analysis, and strive to reduce inefficiencies and manual efforts Skills You’ll Need
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience Moderate experience as an SRE engineer, including defining and creating CUJ, SLO, SLI, Error Budgeting Strong experience with observability, monitoring, and self-healing solutions using tools like New Relic, Splunk, Google Cloud Operations, Ansible, or Terraform Experience in resilient software development in Java and/or JavaScript, with modern CI/CD pipelines such as Bitbucket, Github, GitHub Actions, Docker Proactive attitude, collaborative mindset, self-confidence, and problem-solving across teams Hands-on experience with release tools like Maven, Ant, Gradle, Puppet, Jenkins, TeamCity, uDeploy Skills That Will Help You Excel
Experience implementing SRE practices on GCP Ability to train, coach, and mentor, knowing where each technique is best applied Understanding of architecture and implementation of three-tier web applications Experience with GCP or other public cloud providers Experience in investment banking, financial institutions, or large enterprises using enterprise hardware/software Expectations
