What you will do Essential Responsibilities
Support company-wide initiatives by collaborating with Tech leadership to address broad technical challenges and facilitate rapid team delivery.
Work with design, product management, and systems architecture teams to develop innovative solutions and bring ideas to life.
Influence organizational direction to align with the CarMax Strategic Plan, fostering continuous feedback and partnership with peers and leadership.
Partner with leadership to evolve the platform and operations using solid engineering and agile practices.
Stay informed of industry trends and lead the organization in adopting new ideas, processes, and best practices to enhance customer experience.
Demonstrate high-level leadership skills, driving the overall vision of the organization.
Purpose of the role

You are a self-starter committed to excellence. Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Decision Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
10+ years of experience in Network, Cloud Network, software engineering, or related fields, with multiple certifications preferred.
Specific Qualifications and Requirements
5+ years building infrastructure within cloud platforms, preferably Azure and Akamai.
4+ years scripting or coding experience related to Network Automation.
4+ years experience in Routing, Switching, Firewall, and WiFi.
Deep technical expertise in infrastructure, build and deployment, including cloud, networking, automation, virtualization, and access control.
Experience leading engineering efforts or process improvements across teams.
Experience implementing Azure networking and hybrid environments.
Proficiency with cloud capabilities such as virtual networking, automation, VMs, access management, and deployment.
Ability to solve complex problems in cloud and legacy networks.
Experience building resilient architectures and influencing organizational change.
Strong educational skills in cloud concepts and infrastructure.
Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a passion for automation.
Advanced wireless skills in large enterprise environments.
Work Location: This role is based in Richmond, VA or Dallas, TX, with a hybrid work arrangement. Work Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis; sponsorship is not available for this role. About CarMax
