HDR's Senior Architectural Coordinator - Chicago Office
The Senior Architectural Coordinator at HDR's Chicago office will work under the supervision of a licensed Architect to evaluate, select, and apply architectural techniques, procedures, and modifications across all phases of the architectural process. The role involves investigating multiple variables in healthcare design projects, including inpatient and clinical facilities. Responsibilities include:
Evaluate, select, and apply architectural techniques, procedures, and modifications for healthcare design projects, including inpatient and clinical facilities; Write architectural specifications; Perform code reviews; Assist with the development of design concepts; Prepare graphic materials to communicate concepts; Perform independent pre-design research on subject, context, and precedents; Build physical scale models of architectural concepts; Develop energy analysis models; Assist in the cost estimation process during the design phase; Evaluate, select, and apply architectural techniques, procedures, and modifications to presentations, architectural design, and construction documents. Tools and Technologies:
The role requires proficiency with tools such as AutoCAD, 3D modeling software (3D Max, Revit, SketchUp, Rhino, Grasshopper), virtual and augmented reality software (Enscape, Unity 3D), energy analysis tools (Sefaira, Honeybee, Ladybug), daylight analysis (DIVA), digital fabrication, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign). Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Architecture or related field with at least 6 months' experience, or Bachelor's Degree with 2 years' experience in architecture. Experience may include professional, internship, or research in a university setting, covering: Architectural design Healthcare facility design Drafting/modeling with Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino 3D Parametric design with Grasshopper, Dynamo, Python Virtual Reality with Unity 3D and Enscape Energy analysis with Sefaira, Honeybee, Ladybug, DIVA, THERM Cost analysis and estimation with RS Means Digital fabrication, laser cutting, 3D printing software and hardware Location:
