Captivation Software seeks a highly motivated and experienced DevOps Engineer to join our fast-paced development team. The ideal candidate will have strong Linux systems administration skills, experience with Big Data solutions, configuration management, automation, scripting, and AWS. Responsibilities include implementing infrastructure, automating deployment processes, and ensuring the reliability and scalability of services. Work is primarily on customer sites with a great team. Responsibilities
Support development and deployment of cloud infrastructure in AWS Support development and deployment of non-cloud (Edge) infrastructure, including on-premise and portable equipment Automate deployment processes and ensure service reliability and scalability Manage and maintain Kubernetes containers and AWS cloud infrastructure Collaborate with development teams to integrate applications into infrastructure Monitor and troubleshoot production systems, resolving issues as needed Continuously improve processes and tools to ensure high availability and performance Stay current with new technologies and industry trends, exploring new ways to improve infrastructure Other duties as assigned Requirements
Security Clearance: A current TS/SCI with Polygraph U.S. Government Security clearance is required; U.S. citizenship is also required. Minimum Qualifications: 5+ years of experience in DevOps Engineering or Software Development (Java preferred) with a Bachelor's degree in a related field; or 3 years relevant experience with a Master's degree; or High School Diploma or equivalent with 9 years relevant experience. Strong knowledge of Linux, including system administration and troubleshooting Proficient in configuration management tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet Knowledge of AWS services (EC2, EBS, S3, Lambda) and their application to deployment and management Experience with application and OS deployment, scaling, and management Ability to develop in multiple programming languages such as Python, Bash, or Go Familiarity with Git and other development tools Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues Excellent communication skills, both oral and written Understanding of Agile methodologies and standard software development tools Ability to obtain Security+ certification within 60 days of hire Ability to work onsite in Columbia, MD, 4-5 days/week, with flexibility for schedule changes Preferred Qualifications: Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, Hive, Drill, Impala, Trino, Presto, etc. Experience with containers (EKS, Diode), CI/CD, and Terraform is a plus Availability for some on-call work This position is open for direct hires only. Annual Salary: $130,000 - $270,000 (based on experience) Up to 20% 401k contribution (no matching required, vested from day 1) Above market hourly rates $3,400 HSA contribution 5 weeks paid time off Company-paid medical, dental, vision insurance, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability, AD&D Additional Details
