$75.00/hr - $85.00/hr The rate is $75 to $85 per hour We are seeking a highly skilled IT Security Generalist with a strong background in network security and a broad understanding of cloud platforms, threat detection, and compliance frameworks. This role will play a critical part in securing our hybrid cloud and on-premises infrastructure, supporting security operations, and ensuring compliance with key industry standards. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Azure-native security tools and a passion for developing scalable, secure systems. Key Responsibilities: Design, implement, and manage network security protocols including Azure Firewall, Azure WAF, IDS/IPS, and Zero Trust Architecture Utilize Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, or Wazuh for SIEM, log ingestion, monitoring, and cross-cloud threat analysis Harden cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP) using tools like Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Azure Security Center, and Entra ID Define and enforce Azure Policies and Initiatives for compliance and automated remediation of non-compliant resources Perform regular vulnerability assessments and implement risk mitigation strategies across cloud and on-prem environments Ensure compliance with standards including NIST SP 800-53 R5, CIS 2.0, and PCI DSS through detailed audits and security assessments Lead or contribute to incident response efforts, analyzing and remediating security events and alerts Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and maintain secure network architectures and access controls for enterprise users Maintain documentation of security controls, procedures, and response playbooks Required Qualifications: 37+ years of experience in IT security, cybersecurity, or network security roles Hands-on experience with Azure Security, Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Sentinel, or equivalent SIEM solutions Deep understanding of network security, firewalls, access control, and IDS/IPS systems Working knowledge of Zero Trust models, cloud security architectures, and security operations Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as NIST, CIS, PCI DSS, and experience with policy enforcement Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in fast-paced environments Excellent written and verbal communication skills Preferred Qualifications: Relevant certifications such as Azure Security Engineer Associate, CISSP, GIAC, or Security+ Experience working in multi-cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP) Familiarity with scripting or automation (PowerShell, Python, Terraform, etc.) Seniority level
