The Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) shall perform or review technical security assessments of computing environments to identify vulnerabilities, non-compliance with established Information Assurance (IA) standards and regulations, and recommend mitigation strategies. They will validate and verify system security requirements definitions and analysis, and establish system security designs. Additionally, they support the building of security architectures.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, implement, and/or integrate IA and security systems and components, including those for networking, computing, and enclave environments, with varying data protection/classification requirements. Incorporate IA into systems deployed in operational environments and assist architects and developers in implementing security functionalities to ensure consistent application of security policies and enterprise solutions. Enforce trusted relations among external systems and architectures, and assess and mitigate security threats and risks throughout the system lifecycle. Review certification and accreditation (C&A) documentation, providing feedback on its completeness and compliance. Contribute to security planning, assessment, risk analysis, risk management, certification, and awareness activities for system and network operations. Apply system security engineering expertise across various domains such as security design, engineering lifecycle, cross-domain solutions, cryptography, identification, authentication, authorization, system integration, risk management, intrusion detection, contingency planning, incident handling, configuration control, change management, auditing, and testing. Qualifications
Three levels of experience are available: Level 1:
7 years of experience as an ISSE on programs of similar scope and complexity. Level 2:
14 years of experience, CISSP certification required. Level 3:
20 years of experience, ISSEP and CISSP certifications required. All levels require a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security System Engineering, or a related discipline. #J-18808-Ljbffr
