The
Senior Supervisor - Plant Operations
proactively drives business objectives through strategic execution of department-wide tasks related to safety, quality, and efficiency to ensure continuous improvement of production lines. This role serves as a role model when leading teams and influences peers and direct reports. They understand the department's process flow, are a champion for Ghirardelli’s quality and safety systems, and drive results through involving, coaching, teaching, and motivating both employees and peers. Depending on the area of assignment, manages up to 36 direct reports and can indirectly lead a team of up to 110 hourly employees. Responsible for key systems in the area of responsibility. *NOTE: Our factory runs 24/7 with three shifts. The Sr. Production Supervisor position is scheduled for 2nd (2pm-10:30pm) or 3rd Shift (10pm-6:30am) and will be based on business needs. Qualifications include: Partner with Safety Manager to ensure safety goals and objectives are met. Ensure proper training of staff in safety procedures and accident prevention. Enforce Ghirardelli’s safety rules and procedures; provide feedback and manage performance when applicable. Drive continuous improvement through in-house tools by reviewing quality issues and defining action steps to prevent future errors. Ensure sanitation and housekeeping of assigned areas meet Ghirardelli standards and regulatory requirements. Enforce GMP rules and oversee production processes. Hold employees accountable for product quality; coach and manage performance. Maintain HACCP, Master Sanitation, Weight Control, and quality programs. Ensure all designated Quality Checks are performed at the desired frequency with proper documentation. Verify and improve production and quality procedures applying the “best standard”. Conduct line audits to ensure equipment operates within standards. Review and monitor line performance to develop corrective actions. Analyze issues and develop strategies for continuous improvement. Support investment strategies and champion IR processes. Ensure adherence to production plans and regulate material flow. Provide support as Super User for SAP. Prioritize work and improvements within the area. Assess and address training needs of staff and participate in training program development. Hold regular meetings with team leads and supervisors to ensure continuous improvement. Partner with HR to address labor issues and participate in negotiations or mediations. Set expectations through KPIs and hold employees accountable. Identify development opportunities and create a high-performing team dynamic. Enforce safety rules and issue disciplinary actions as needed. Participate in LPW Pillars and TPM strategies to improve factory efficiency. Provide leadership and coaching support to other supervisors. Perform other duties as assigned, including special projects.
