Mechanical aptitude and basic mathematical skills are essential. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Designs fire protection sprinkler systems with accuracy and detail to minimize errors during field installation. Reviews work orders and manuals to determine critical dimensions and designs within allocated hours. Calculates figures for resizing dimensions for production, layout, and installation. Submits plans for approval, obtains permits, and collaborates with engineering staff for modifications. Produces graphic representations of designs for review. Creates final sketches, checks dimensions, materials, and relationships of parts. Revises designs for practicality. Sketches layouts, computes angles, weights, areas, dimensions, and tolerances. Drafts detailed multi-view drawings of systems. Qualifications

One-year certificate from college or technical school, REVIT training, five to 15 years of related experience, or equivalent combination. Computer Skills
Knowledge of REVIT, CAD software, and Microsoft Office Word Processing. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
NICET Level 1 Certification preferred but not required. Other Skills and Abilities
Ability to read blueprints for fire sprinkler layouts. Ability to make technical presentations internally and to customers. Sound knowledge of NFPA 13 and related codes. Survey skills and understanding of construction coordination are preferred.
