Primary Responsibilities

Market Sector Directors (MSD) drive our business within HDR's matrix management structure. The Highway & Roads (H&R) sector is the largest, with nearly $1B annual revenue globally. It includes clients owning highways, toll roads, and bridge structures, focusing on services like design, traffic engineering, planning, and tolling. This role requires understanding of H&R clients, funding, and government structures. Responsibilities are divided as follows: Market leadership and business development (70%) Staff development (20%) Support to Operations (10%) The Director sets strategic vision, supports growth initiatives, develops staff, and maintains communication with leadership to implement plans. The role involves expanding HDR's client base beyond the US, engaging with local and international clients, and representing HDR in industry organizations. Business Development

Responsibilities include creating and executing strategic vision, managing key clients, leading projects, marketing services, participating in leadership teams, and developing industry relationships. Staff Development

Lead an effective team, support technical excellence, coordinate staffing, and participate in performance reviews. Support to Operations

Assist in project delivery, monitor performance indicators, promote quality assurance, and facilitate knowledge sharing. Qualifications

Preferred:

20+ years in highway/bridge design, PE license, leadership in industry associations. Required:

Bachelor's in Engineering, 12+ years experience, strong communication, client management, business skills, and a commitment to HDR's culture. Additional Information
