Group/Division
With over 40 years of experience in semiconductor process control, KLA supports chipmakers worldwide in quickly and cost-effectively ramping up next-generation devices. Our Global Products Group (GPG) develops all of KLA's metrology and inspection products, including the Surfscan group, which focuses on wafer surface inspection tools. These tools detect defects and process non-uniformities early, aiding in yield improvement. Our flagship products include the SPx platforms for wafer surface quality and defect inspection during fabrication.
Job Description/Qualifications
The Surfscan Division specializes in unpatterned wafer surface inspection tools, essential for qualifying current and next-generation semiconductor substrates and monitoring process tools. We are expanding our team to support upcoming product lines and ramp-up efforts. We seek a Product Development Engineer responsible for developing next-generation inspection tools, with duties including:
Transforming market and customer requirements into system configurations.
Developing innovative inspection solutions to enhance sensitivity and throughput, including designing experiments for validation.
Defining system error budgets and translating system requirements into submodule requirements, collaborating with functional teams.
Ensuring successful tool integration and product launches through cross-functional collaboration.
Creating and executing prototype test plans for systems and subsystems.
Engaging with customer technical teams to resolve system issues in manufacturing or at customer sites.
Preferred experience in inspection/metrology and semiconductor manufacturing.
Project management skills are a plus.
The ideal candidate should have expertise in high-resolution optical design, high-speed sensor technology, advanced image/signal processing, statistical analysis, and simulation. Strong multitasking, independence, motivation, and excellent communication skills are essential. Minimum Qualifications Master's Degree with no related experience or Bachelor's Degree with 3 years of related experience. Base Pay Range: $92,400 - $157,100 annually.
