Job Title: Associate Investigator (Not PR - 31121)
In order to be considered for this position, candidates must meet one of the following criteria:
Serving permanently in the title of Associate Investigator, or
Reachable on the Associate Investigator Civil Service List, or
Eligible under the 55a Program.
Job Responsibilities Under supervision, with some independence, the Associate Investigator performs surveillances, interrogates subjects and witnesses, examines and analyzes employee records, maintains case records, prepares reports, and analyzes agency records. They make recommendations for actions following investigations, testify at hearings or court proceedings, and may work closely with City investigatory agencies. Additional duties include analyzing and evaluating agency procedures, conducting security surveys, developing security plans, and training staff in detection and control procedures to prevent misconduct and incompetency.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent plus five years of relevant investigative experience, or
Associate degree or 60 college credits plus four years of relevant experience, or
Baccalaureate degree plus two years of relevant experience, or
Equivalent education and/or experience.
Preferred Skills
Operational knowledge of Security CCTV cameras and recording devices
Operational knowledge of mobile handheld devices (tablets, laptops, cellular phones)
Proficiency in Microsoft Windows 10, MS Word, and MS Excel
Valid NYS Driver's License
Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs
