Founded in 1890, Glen-Gery Corporation is one of the nation’s largest brick manufacturers, operating nine brick manufacturing facilities and one manufactured stone facility. Its products are sold nationally through over five hundred distributors and in Canada. Since entering the USA in 2018, Brickworks has acquired Sioux City Brick, Redland Brick, and the distribution business of Southfield Corporation in Illinois and Indiana. The North American business now has over 1,000 employees across forty locations, including 8 brick plants, 25 masonry supply centers, and 3 Design Studios. Basic Function: Reporting to the Brickworks North America Executive Vice President, Finance, the Director, Corporate Finance will oversee the company’s accounting and reporting functions, including divisional financial consolidation, technical accounting, and internal/external reporting. The role requires knowledge of IFRS, application of accounting principles, and decision-making skills. The director will collaborate with the executive team to develop financial strategies and maintain control systems to protect assets and ensure accurate reporting. This position is a key member of the management team, working closely with the EVP, Finance, to ensure ongoing financial leadership. The role also involves continuous improvement initiatives to streamline, automate, and enhance the Corporate Finance function. Principal accountabilities include: Planning

Monitor and direct strategic business plan implementation Develop financial and tax strategies with the EVP Finance and parent company Maintain capital expenditure reports and analyze variances Develop performance measures aligned with strategic goals Operations

Maintain relations with management team members Oversee process improvements in finance functions, including AP and Credit Manage tax and treasury functions with the EVP, Finance Coordinate outsourced functions and month-end reporting processes Financial Information

Oversee fiscal reporting, budgeting, and statutory filings Manage financial close processes and reporting accuracy Collaborate on profit estimates and forecasts with the EVP Finance Taxation

Support tax accounting during financial closes Ensure tax compliance and liaise with tax professionals Risk Management

Identify and mitigate risks Implement internal controls and maintain insurance coverage Ensure legal and regulatory compliance Maintain relations with auditors and address their findings Acquisitions

Drive integration of acquired businesses Manage purchase accounting and opening balance sheets Other Duties

Monitor cash flows and forecasts Lead and develop the finance team Support sales and production leadership with financial insights Education

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance Master's degree in related field CPA, CMA, or equivalent required Experience

10+ years in leadership roles, preferably in manufacturing or public companies Strong IFRS and US GAAP knowledge Proven team management and collaboration skills Excellent communication skills Additional Details
