The
VP of Accounting
reports to the CAO and is responsible for overseeing the accounting functions of this Fortune 500 technology, media, and communications company. The VP of Accounting will oversee accounting operations (shared services), accounting policy, SEC reporting, M&A diligence, Finance Transformation, and internal controls. The ideal candidate has extensive experience as a Controller, VP of Accounting, or Senior Director, preferably within Big 4 or similar firms. Must have experience managing sizeable teams. Responsibilities: Maintain all accounting policies, collaborating with SEC reporting, internal/external auditors, and accounting experts to interpret complex issues. Make final decisions on policies and processes. Ensure SEC financial reporting compliance, analyze draft SEC filings for accuracy, and sign off on SEC reports or submit them to the CAO for approval. Design a compliant and efficient accounting operating model in collaboration with executive leadership. Implement and maintain strong accounting policies, SOX compliance, and internal controls with internal/external audit teams. Manage daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate and complete financial reporting. Oversee M&A diligence team. Advise on finance organization change management. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with 15+ years of relevant experience. Expert knowledge of US GAAP and development of accounting policies. At least five years of SEC reporting experience. Minimum three years in roles such as Controller, VP of Accounting, or similar. Seniority level
