The Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies seeks a full-time Executive Director to provide strategic leadership and management of the Center. The interdisciplinary Davis Center, founded in 1948, aims to advance research and scholarship on Russia and Eurasia at Harvard, train future scholars, and foster academic, cultural, and community engagement through various programs and initiatives. The Center hosts faculty, students, visiting scholars, and collaborates with other institutions to promote regional studies and global issues. Responsibilities

Develop new programs and initiatives aligned with the Center’s mission. Manage strategic, operational, and financial planning, overseeing functions like research, finance, HR, development, communications, events, and research activities. Oversee the Title VI Grant, including FLAS awards, language instruction, and outreach activities; co-author grant proposals and reports. Identify funding sources, cultivate relationships with donors and foundations, and manage alumni relations. Lead and develop a diverse, inclusive team; ensure compliance with policies; and mentor staff. Participate in university committees, represent the Center externally, and collaborate with other research centers. Serve as Director of Graduate Studies for the REECA program, teach courses, and support student placement. Qualifications

PhD in a core social science discipline with regional expertise. At least ten years of management experience in academia or research, including financial oversight and team leadership. Strong strategic planning, fundraising, and external engagement skills. Fluency in Russian preferred; proficiency in regional languages helpful. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally. Additional Information
