Director of Model Risk Management Location:

GreenSky is a fast-paced, innovative, and growing disruptor in the Financial Technology space. We are a data driven company so there will be no shortage of interesting questions to answer! Job Responsibilities: This position is a leadership role in Model Risk Management (MRM) team within the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) organization. We are looking for an experienced senior MRM professional with an in-depth knowledge and interest in MRM, industry best practices for model governance and validation, as well as for risk oversight and reporting. You are knowledgeable of the model risk policy, validation methods and procedures in the area of credit retail products. MRM is responsible for developing and maintaining GreenSky’s MRM framework, including the framework for model risk, requirements and controls for model governance, independent reporting of model validation, issue resolution, ongoing monitoring, and the application and process for managing the model inventory. Specifically, Develop and enhance the MRM framework and function in GreenSky. Lead MRM activities and deliver its duties in model government and validation. Ensure the quality of independent model validations and model risk assessments, and practical and actionable issue resolutions to address the identified model risk if any. Lead the team in providing advice and training for model risk management and governance to all levels of the company. Support and collaborate with relevant model owners and effectively liaise with leaders throughout the Group. Experience, Skills & Qualifications: 5+ years of experience with risk management and model development and/or validation. A Master’s degree or PhD in Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Engineering or a relevant related field. Strong knowledge of model risk management frameworks and governance, risk appetite frameworks, risk controls and risk reporting. Experience with model risk management applications and model inventory is an advantage. Developed understanding of statistical / mathematical modelling and use of models in the financial industry. Working experience within models used in the areas of retail credit risk, market risk and Asset Liability Management is an advantage. Excellent communication skills in spoken English and concise / technical business writing in MRM documents. Solid planning, project and process management skills with a strong track record of concrete deliveries. Excellent stakeholder management and networking skills with an ability to drive the agenda of the team. Leadership experience with an ability to attract, develop and retain talents as well as provide guidance in the daily work.
