Job Description: This position provides System Administration support for development and production environments of a mission-critical Identity and Access Management (IdAM) system. Responsibilities include working with a team to obtain and configure Virtual Machines (VMs), loading Operating Systems and software, performing security hardening, patching, and monitoring system status. The role also supports ISSO and Issue resolution. Candidates should apply knowledge of computer operations, platforms, systems, architectures, functions, and terminology. The role requires independently reading, writing, and implementing standard operating procedures and technical documentation. The Level 2 System Administrator shall possess the following capabilities: Critical Skills: Experience with: Configuration and Maintenance of Virtual Machines Linux and Windows operating systems Scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Perl) OS and Software application patching (e.g., IAVA, Version updates) Container Technologies (Kubernetes, Docker) Knowledge or skills relevant to computer operations Attention to detail and effective time management Excellent communication skills Desired Skills: Experience with: IdAM directories (Active Directory and/or LDAP) Ticket tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Redmine, RT Tracker) Familiarity with Ansible and MongoDB Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to multi-task and work both independently and as part of a team. Qualifications: 10+ years of System Administrator experience Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university. An additional 4 years of experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree, totaling 14 years. Certifications Required: DoD 8570 compliance with IAT Level I or higher, if the position's activities include CWIP activities, as determined by the COR.
