About the Role The Vice President (VP) of Maintenance is responsible for overseeing all aspects of aircraft maintenance, engineering, and operational safety to ensure fleet reliability and regulatory compliance. This role provides strategic leadership for JSX’s Technical Operations organization, ensuring all activities align with our growth strategy, safety objectives, and premium customer experience standards.

A Day in the Life

Lead and manage all aircraft maintenance programs, including scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.

Ensure compliance with FAA regulations and JSX’s internal safety standards.

Ensure Tech Ops compliance under a Safety Management System (14 CFR Part 5).

Develop and implement engineering solutions to enhance aircraft performance and reliability.

Oversee technical documentation, modifications, and upgrades.

Oversee new aircraft onboarding and additions to the JSX Operating Certificate.

Assist in the negotiation and management of aircraft lease agreements.

Maintain rigorous safety protocols across all technical operations.

Serve as liaison with regulatory bodies (e.g., FAA) to ensure audits and inspections are passed; may serve as the Part 119 Director of Maintenance.

Manage maintenance teams, engineers, and support staff.

Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.

Oversee technical operations budgets and negotiate contracts with MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) providers.

Optimize cost-efficiency without compromising safety or quality.

Align technical operations with JSX’s growth strategy and customer experience goals.

Work closely with other operational departments to achieve JSX enterprise goals.

Required Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Maintenance, Aerospace Engineering, or Aviation Technology.

10+ years of experience in aviation maintenance or technical operations.

Proven experience managing large-scale maintenance programs (Part 121 or Part 135 operations).

Deep understanding of aircraft systems, MRO, and fleet lifecycle management.

Experience with aircraft modifications, STCs (Supplemental Type Certificates), and technical documentation.

Familiarity with Safety Management Systems (SMS) and Continuing Analysis and Surveillance Systems (CASS).

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree.

Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License.

Proven track record of ensuring compliance with FAA regulations and safety standards.

Experience leading cross‑functional teams across maintenance, engineering, quality assurance, and supply chain.

Expert‑level understanding of aircraft systems, MRO, and fleet lifecycle management.

Strong leadership and team management capabilities.

Excellent communication and executive briefing skills.

Strong decision‑making under pressure in safety‑sensitive environments.

Ability to align operational excellence with customer experience goals.

Pay & Perks Compensation is $180,000 - $200,000/annually.
