About the Company An EMS company is seeking a highly experienced and driven Senior Quality Engineer to join our team. In this critical role, you will ensure product quality across complex PCBA and system‑level manufacturing processes, while serving as a key technical liaison between internal teams, suppliers, and customers. You will lead data‑driven investigations, drive corrective actions, and hold partners accountable for meeting quality standards. A major focus of this position is ensuring flawless quality execution during New Product Introduction (NPI) builds, partnering with engineering and operations teams to validate manufacturability, compliance, and scale‑up readiness.
Responsibilities
Lead weekly Quality Summary Reports for internal and external stakeholders, providing analysis, trends, and corrective action updates.
Analyze yield data and failure analysis reports across PCBA, mechanical, and system‑level processes.
Identify recurring quality issues and drive root‑cause investigations with cross‑functional teams and supply‑chain partners.
Ensure NPI build quality management, including first‑article inspection, validation of new processes, and early detection of design or manufacturability issues.
Hold sub‑tier vendors and factory teams accountable when defect trends impact customer deliverables.
Serve as the primary point of contact for quality escalations on assigned products and processes, demonstrating strong customer service skills in managing expectations and providing timely resolutions.
Review and validate supplier and factory FA (Failure Analysis) reports for accuracy and alignment with expectations.
Apply critical thinking skills to interpret complex data, evaluate risks, and implement effective solutions.
Lead or support cross‑functional quality improvement initiatives, audits, and process reviews.
Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
Perform other quality‑related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in quality or manufacturing engineering.
Required Skills
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with expertise in yield, test, and defect data analysis.
Solid understanding of SMT, PIH, test processes, and RMA repair.
In‑depth knowledge of electronic theory, digital/analog circuitry, and PC system architecture.
Expertise in applying IPC‑A‑610D (acceptability of electronic assemblies) and J‑STD‑001 (JSPEC) soldering standards for complex PCBA and system assembly.
Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams through root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels internally and externally.
Strong customer service orientation in handling escalations and supporting client deliverables.
Preferred Skills
Experience in NPI quality management, including ramp‑to‑mass production transitions.
Experience in silicon manufacturing and testing environments.
Familiarity with mechanical manufacturing processes.
Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
Multilingual ability in Mandarin, Spanish, or Vietnamese is a plus.
