The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

Supporting the commercialization and manufacture of products for the global electronics business by partnering with local and global design teams to ensure design for quality.

Leading, executing and coaching on product design reviews, FMEAs, test method development, raw material specifications, customer complaint investigations for the purpose of error‑proofing processes and driving to zero defect.

Identifying, planning, recommending, and completing quality programs involving innovative applications and extensions of existing and new technologies of major importance to division business.

Managing and driving supplier management activities in support of new and existing products. Managing outsourced manufacturers throughout the global supply chain.

Collaborating with laboratory and global manufacturing teams to assure uniform and consistent metrology through Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA), Round Robin correlation studies, and use of Internal Reference Materials (IRMs) as appropriate. Assisting in the development of improved test methods, as needed.

Willingness to maintain flexible hours and travel to support improvement activities across global operations.

Your Skills And Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) in an engineering or Science discipline from an accredited institution.

Four (4) years of combined Manufacturing Engineering, Product Engineering and Quality experience in a private, public, government or military environment.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

Minimum of six (6) years of combined Manufacturing Engineering, Product Engineering and Quality experience in a private, public, government or military environment.

Experience with direct customer interaction in a high‑tech industry (electronics, semiconductor, medical, automotive, aerospace, etc.).

Knowledge of statistical data analysis, sampling plans, statistical process control and capability studies.

Experience working on a global cross‑functional team.

Communication, writing influencing and conflict resolution skills.

Work Location

This role follows an on‑site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN.

Travel: May include up to 25% domestic and international.

Relocation: May be authorized.

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
