As a newly established business division of AXA XL, our Middle Market business focuses on the expansion of AXA XL’s current offerings to mid‑sized clients in the US Commercial P&C market.
We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Underwriter to join an established underwriting team in a rapidly growing and dynamic division. The individual will be responsible for servicing a renewal book and producing new business through exceptional underwriting practices for the East Region. This program will launch in June/July of 2026.
What you’ll be doing
Build and enhance relationships with assigned brokers and clients to identify and establish new distribution relationships.
Collaborate across business units and functions to leverage existing resources to underwrite, manage and service a Middle Market renewal book and produce new business in accordance with the Middle Market underwriting unit goals.
Exercise discretion and self‑supported judgment in the analysis and evaluation of risk.
Participate in roundtable discussions on risk assessment.
Negotiate with producers within the limits of delegated authority and in accordance with established underwriting standards to achieve profit objectives.
Build expertise within the Middle Market portfolio community to address the needs of our clients. A one AXA solutions approach to underwriting.
Maintain compliance with all internal and external underwriting guidelines and legal requirements.

A bachelor’s degree is required.

The U.S. base salary range for this position is $66,600–105,100 USD.
