Your Role on the Team
Position Summary: Orientates to the planning and provision of nursing care to patients in the step down unit. Accurately interprets ECG rhythm and manages care of patients during life threatening emergencies in populations served. Orientates to the supervision and delegation of care responsibilities to ancillary personnel commensurate with their scope of practice.
What It Takes to be Successful
Required Qualifications: Current CA RN License BLS Certificate Successful completion of Basic Dysrhythmia Course Current ACLS Certificate BSN Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
Preferred Qualifications: Completion of Critical Care Course Required Cardiovascular nursing knowledge and skills applicable to the care of post-coronary intervention and open heart patients during their rehab & discharge phase of their hospitalization Has excellent observation, good nursing judgement/critical thinking, and good oral and written communication skills Ability to work with multiple tasks in a team setting utilizing interpersonal, organizational and prioritizing skills Able to supervise and delegate care responsibilities to ancillary personnel commensurate with their scope of practice Must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time Must be able to lift and position patients using proper body mechanics Must have visual and auditory acuity necessary for responsibilities listed Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms Conditions of Employment: The University of California, Irvine (UCI) seeks to provide a safe and healthy environment for the entire UCI community.
