We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to join our dynamic team and support the successful execution of our commercial projects.
Position Overview
As an Assistant Project Manager, you will support the Project Manager and other project team members in managing and overseeing various commercial construction projects. This position offers the opportunity to grow within the company and gain valuable experience in commercial construction management. You will be involved in the planning, coordination, and execution of projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the coordination and management of commercial construction projects from pre-construction through completion. Support the Project Manager in developing and maintaining project schedules, budgets, and procurement plans. Track project progress, including timelines, costs, and quality control measures. Help manage relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and project stakeholders. Prepare and maintain project documentation, including RFIs, change orders, and submittals. Assist with the preparation and review of contracts, purchase orders, and invoices. Monitor and ensure compliance with safety standards, codes, and regulations on job sites. Attend job site meetings and provide regular updates on project status. Assist in problem-solving and troubleshooting any issues that arise during the project lifecycle. Help ensure all project deliverables meet or exceed client expectations.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field. (Preferred, not required) 2-4 years of experience in commercial construction project management or related roles. Strong understanding of construction processes, building systems, and materials. Ability to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints. Proficient in project management software (e.g., Procore, Microsoft Project, etc) and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines. Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and permitting processes in California is a plus. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with others. Strong work ethic and desire to learn and grow in the construction industry.
