The City of Manassas Parks, Culture & Recreation division of the Community Development Department is seeking a dynamic
Visitor & Business Services Manager
to oversee visitor engagement, facility rentals, and retail operations at the Manassas Museum and park facilities. This role is ideal for a strategic leader with a passion for customer service, community engagement, and revenue growth.
The hiring range for this position will be
: $83,033.60 - $114,171.20, DOQ. Responsibilities:
Supervise visitor services staff, including scheduling, coaching/training, and monitoring performance.
Manage daily operations of the information and registration desk while ensuring exceptional customer service.
Oversee all aspects of the Manassas Museum store, including product selection, merchandising, and sales strategies.
Coordinate private rentals for park facilities, handling reservations, payments, and compliance.
Maintain the City’s Special Events Calendar and recreation management system to prevent scheduling conflicts.
Lead marketing efforts for parks, the museum, pool, and historic sites to enhance visibility and revenue.
Ensure efficient point-of-sale operations and financial reporting, including inventory management and e-commerce.
Develop and analyze reports on admissions, rentals, sales, and visitor statistics for City leadership.
Ideal Candidate:
Experienced in customer service, retail management, or visitor services.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.
Proficient in point-of-sale systems, marketing strategies, and event coordination.
Detail-oriented with excellent communication and organizational skills.
A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Retail, Marketing, Tourism or other relevant field; supplemented by a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in progressively responsible positions in visitor services, marketing or sales in a parks, culture, museum or tourism related position or equivalent is required. Knowledge of point-of-sales systems, record-keeping practices and procedures highly desirable. Excellent business math skills and writing skills required. Must have a valid Virginia driver’s license.
