Software Java Engineer - (Secret Security Clearance)

Position Description:
We're seeking individuals with at least five (5) years of experience who can design, articulate, guide, and mentor big ideas.
The position of Software Engineer is a client-focused, direct support role with Semantic AI.
You will base your activities in the Washington DC area and work at various customer sites as needed.
Your primary focus will be software project support in response to customer needs, as assigned by the Director of Customer Success and Field Operations. You will serve as a Cortex Edge expert, developing ways to adapt our software to meet customer information requirements.
You will provide services both on-site with customers and remotely from home. Responsibilities: Architect and implement enterprise-grade Java-based applications. Identify and resolve issues with applications. Participate in group meetings to discuss projects and objectives. Assist, mentor, and collaborate with other developers in troubleshooting, debugging, and coding. Meet deadlines for fast-paced deliverables. Support technical on-site delivery, customization, and maintenance of our software products across various environments. Work with a team to advise and shape product roadmaps. Minimum Qualifications: Must possess at least an active Secret Security Clearance. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, similar field, or equivalent experience. At least 5 years of experience in Java programming. Knowledge of frameworks, SDKs, APIs, and libraries including Spring and Java 17 or higher. Experience with multi-threaded programming. Proficient with SCM and build tools such as Subversion and Maven. Meticulous in analysis and execution. Ability to develop new software capabilities based on customer feedback. Areas of Required Software Development Knowledge/Experience: Java Swing and Java on UNIX and Windows SQL, JPA, PostgreSQL, ETL Elasticsearch, SOLR, Lucene RESTful web services Angular.js, JavaScript HTML5, CSS3, Sass Semantic Graphs, Graph databases Maven IntelliJ Preferred Qualifications: U.S. Customs and Border Protection BI experience Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written & verbal) for customer-facing and team settings Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills Security+ Certification Experience with Department of Defense, Federal Law Enforcement, or Intelligence Community
