Description AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers, servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment to ensure our customers have continual access to innovation. We work on challenging problems with many variables impacting the supply chain and seek talented individuals eager to contribute.
You’ll join a diverse team of engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers. Your role will involve collaboration across AWS to uphold safety and security standards, deliver high capacity at low costs, and foster an inclusive culture that encourages bold ideas and ownership.
Responsibilities
Operate and maintain mechanical, electrical, generator, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center.
Troubleshoot facility equipment and rack-level events within SLAs.
Perform limited maintenance tasks such as filter changes, HVAC PMs, rack power installs, and PDU/ATS replacements.
Support Data Center Operations technicians.
Conduct root cause analysis of equipment failures.
Adhere to all safety procedures during work.
Write procedures.
Work 12-hour shifts, rotating between days and nights, with 3, 4, or 5-day work weeks.
Take daily operational readings of mechanical and electrical equipment.
Use internal CMMS for managing workflows and spare parts inventory.
Supervise contractors performing maintenance.
Respond to emergency calls during on-call rotations.
Comply with physical security policies.
Drive innovation and reduce operational costs.
Manipulate small wires and objects.
Physical Tasks and Conditions
Walk uneven terrain, work at heights, and from ladders.
Lift up to 39 pounds regularly; assist with group lifts for heavier objects.
Work in noisy environments and in unusual body positions.
Security and Citizenship Requirements This position requires US citizenship and an active Top Secret security clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearance with polygraph after employment.

Basic Qualifications
3+ years of maintenance experience on mechanical or electrical equipment.
Experience operating electrical or mechanical systems in mission-critical environments.
Active US Government Top Secret security clearance or higher.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or relevant field.
Knowledge of building management systems and 4+ years of Data Center Engineering experience.
Ability to prioritize in complex environments.
Engineering licenses such as DC II, DC III, or equivalent.
Additional licenses or certifications like Journeyman, CFC, or NFPA 70E.
