Background Information:

Innovative Defense Technologies (IDT), provider of cutting-edge cloud-based integration, automated testing, and data analysis for complex, mission-critical systems in the US Department of Defense (DOD), is seeking a Sr. IT Engineer to be based in our Mt. Laurel, NJ office. Leveraging advanced software automation, model-based systems engineering (MBSE), and AI-driven capabilities, IDT accelerates capability development, enhances operational readiness, and reduces lifecycle costs for the Department of Defense. The company is dedicated to transforming defense systems through innovation, efficiency, and mission-critical results.

Overview: IDT is seeking a Sr. IT Engineer to join the Information Systems team, responsible for deploying and maintaining Linux and Windows based computing systems to support virtualized testing of Naval tactical systems. This role requires travel (up to 25%) to customer sites across the U.S. and internationally. Responsibilities include infrastructure configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting Naval tactical applications, and providing documentation and remote support when not traveling.

All applicants must be able to obtain/maintain an active U.S. Security Clearance.

Responsibilities Include:

Travel to customer sites to deploy, maintain, troubleshoot virtual compute infrastructure in a classified environment. Travel can be up to 25%.

Collaborate with technical teams from multiple organizations.

Support land-based and underway test events across the U.S.

Create design documentation for customer reference.

Support IDT and customer teams at various sites.

Provide end-user training.

Test and deploy combat systems on virtual platforms.

Develop solutions and processes to improve support and efficiency.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Systems, Computer Science, or relevant Engineering field.

7+ years of experience in relevant technology fields or strong conceptual knowledge of relevant technologies.

Required Skills:

Extensive experience with Windows and Linux OS configuration and administration.

Experience with virtualization tools like VMware.

Knowledge of networking protocols: TCP/IP, DNS, switching, routing, VLANs, firewalls.

Understanding of container technologies such as Docker.

Ability to adapt between projects in an agile environment.

Willingness and ability to travel to customer sites, including at sea.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with automation scripting (Python, Jenkins).

Familiarity with automation tools like Ansible, Terraform.

Understanding of protocols like 802.11, TCP, UDP, ICMP.

Experience with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG).

Experience with Naval systems.

Effective communication with technical and non-technical audiences.

Ability to work independently and in teams.

Strong analytical skills with a sense of ownership and urgency.

Pay Range: $135,000 - $231,000 or $164,000 - $273,000, depending on experience and level.

Note: Compensation varies based on experience, skills, and education. This range does not include bonuses or benefits.
